I will not entertain anyone attacking civil servants in the province out of personal political frustration, Copperbelt Province Minister Bowman Lusambo has warned.

Mr Lusambo said he was aware of some people in the province calling themselves “real Patriotic Front (PF)” who have been going round several Government departments harassing Government workers.

He said this when he addressed hundreds of PF members from Ndola district who staged a solidarity march to endorse President Edgar Lungu’s 2021 candidature on Thursday.

“I am aware of some self-proclaimed PF founders who are making so much noise and are going round harassing civil servants in the province,” Mr Lusambo said.

The minister warned that he would not allow politicians to disrespect civil servants especially district commissioners in the province.

He said civil servants must be respected as they were there to provide service.

“As a Minister for Copperbelt, I will not allow anyone to attack my officials especially the district commissioners and any official in Government departments. All civil servants are there to give service to the Zambian people.

“The fact that President Lungu appointed those district commissioners means that he trusts and respects them and so they deserve to be respected. I know those that are attacking my officials in the district and I am going to deal with them,” he said.

And Ndola district PF chairlady Mubanga Chimbini urged members of the party not to be deceived by the named faction leaders but to remain loyal to President Lungu

Ms Chimbini said President Lungu had proved to be a great and selfless leader who deserved support.

“Members should not be deceived by people who are frustrated, who are trying so hard to turn other members against President Lungu. Thank God that their plans will not work, because the President has shown that he is a great leader not just for the party but the nation.

“Such frustrated people should be ignored, because they mean no good. I urge all members to remain loyal to President Lungu,” she said.
