NO Patriotic Front (PF) member is more equal than the other and we must emulate late president Michael Sata who treated all members equally, President Lungu has said.
President Lungu has urged PF party members to espouse the vision of the late PF founder who embraced all party members irrespective of their period of stay in the party.
The President said former president Sata was a visionary leader and therefore his vision should be embraced by all ruling party members.
Mr. Lungu said he was disturbed and disappointed that some senior party members in Rufunsa district were going round telling other members and claiming that they were founder members of PF and yet not.
He said this yesterday in Rufunsa at a public rally held at Chimunsanya Basic School grounds.
“PF does not belong to an individual, it’s a party for all. So all those claiming that they are the owners of the party are just wasting their time,’’ the President said.
He urged party members to recruit new members and embrace them.
Mr. Lungu challenged his party members to work with everyone including the opposition UPND because election period was over and that it was time to work together and develop the nation.
“Elections are over, it’s now time to work for the people of Zambia. As PF we are willing to work with everyone including the UPND in developing the country; but if they don’t want we will not force them,” he said.
President Lungu also thanked the people of Rufunsa for voting and giving him massive votes including all PF candidates at local government (councillors) and Members of Parliament.
Meanwhile, President Lungu has assured Zambians that the campaign promises would start yielding fruit in the run-up to 2021.
