DANTE Saunders should stop masquerading as a political activist and come out in the open to declare his political interest because he has now proved to be a UPND cadre who thinks he can be relevant on the political arena by using his disguised position to discredit those in power, PF youths on the Copperbelt have said.
Commenting on a statement attributed to Mr. Saunders as having incited the UPND never to recognize President Edgar Lungu as elected republican president, provincial youth chairperson Nathan Chanda said time for Mr. Saunders and the entire UPND to wake up from slumber and come to terms with reality that President Lungu was an elected republican President was now and that living in denial would not change the state of affairs.
Mr. Chanda noted with disbelief that instead of remaining wholly uncorrupted and steadfast to his call as an activist who previously offered credible checks and balances to political players by holding them accountable for their shortcomings, Mr. Saunders had taken a partisan stance while holding on to a disguised position.
He said Mr. Saunders’ decision to align himself to the UPND and promote criminality by discrediting a democratically elected leader did not befit an individual of good standing in society and advised him to join politics because that was his constitutional right instead of playing double standards.
He said time for politicking was long gone and that what Zambians were looking for were patriotic statesmen who were ready to provide solutions to challenges the country was going through and not petty-minded individuals who were dividing the country further with the hope of propagating their political fortunes.
