Pastor Kangwa Chileshe sowing confusion

Dear Editor,

I am often left angry and disenchanted when people deliberately twist the truth to suit their own agendas.

I am also chary that there are some experts out there known to be masters at shifting terms and definitions around, with the sole purpose of sowing confusion in the minds of readers.

But the issues become even more frightening when such misrepresentation comes from men and women of God.

Of my immediate concern is Pastor Kangwa Chileshe, the overseers of City Refuge Ministry and former Kabanana actor who today tells the world that Zambia has no true leaders. Just exactly does he mean?

Pastor Chileshe which critical media did President Lungu shut? I do suppose you are referring to the Post and if you do I can wish you God’s forgiveness.

I say so because even the dreariest Zambian knows for sure that the Post was shut by our Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) for non-payment of tax.

But if you have chosen to join a line of those pastors to defend the wrong, you are most welcome and be ready to be criticized. And I am sure you know why.

That is the tragedy of some of the preachers in Zambia today.

Their track record consists of rejecting the authority of the Bible, embracing the heresy of universalism, and declaring good what God has declared evil.

So Pastor Chileshe you think that all leaders are false in Zambia? That, for me is an extremely sweeping statement without facts. Are you suggesting in any way that both leaders in the ruling opposition political parties are false because you were not categorical?

You are also a leader of a church (City Refuge-whatever that means). Does that mean you are also false? To me you sounded more like a man seeking cheap publicity hence the choice of the media.

I know. I know. This is all old stuff. But it continues to irritate me.

However Pastor Chileshe if you have nothing tangible to say please keep yourself in the church and try saving souls, if you can.

Fred M’membe proud owner of 3 new newspapers?

Dear Editor,

It has just been brought to my attention that the owner of the late Post newspapers Fred M’membe may have actually opened up three newspapers which are currently on the market.

These are the Mast, Wall Times and The Citizen. When all these three are rolled together they actually form the Post. Clever fellow he is.

If this is true, then I think Fred is a jolly smart chap than most of us thought.

He is in newspaper business as usual and from the look of things he will always be a step ahead of everybody, ZRA included.

May be the million dollar question which everyone may be asking is: Where is Fred getting the money to publish his purported three newspapers if he is now in liquidation? I smell a rat.

I hope that this is all not true.

Mealie meal cartels behind high prices

Dear Editor,

No doubt life in Zambia has become hard, mainly due to high prices of essential commodities.

The removal of subsidies from fuel and soon electricity has made worse already complicated lives of the majority of Zambians.

However what troubles my mind still is the price of our staple food, mealie meal.

Despite Zambia having produced bumper maize harvests in the last two or three farming seasons (and we are expecting one in the 2016/17 season) prices of mealie meal have continued to skyrocket for no plausible reasons.

It does not make any sense to me that a country with so much maize to throw around can embrace high prices of mealie.

It is either we have serious cartels bent on making huge profits for themselves or there are some people out there to make this government unpopular in the eyes of the people.

My advice to government (and Dr Chiluba did that at one point) is that it should try to import mealie meal from our friendly countries.

This will dismantle suspected cartels behind high mealie meal prices in Zambia. You may ask those who were in the Chiluba administration for advice.

Scott, Sata behind the current economic mess

Dear Editor,

I strongly believe that this man, Scott and his friend Simon Zukas have become senile.

They only believe in seeing black in every person who refuses to bow down before their puppeteer Fred M’membe.

Let me remind Scott that the economy went bad under his watch when late President Sata embarked on unbudgeted projects.

You bwana Scott, together with Kabimba and M’membe were full of praises.

Today, within your small understanding, you should have the guts to stand and blame President Lungu for things you did with Mr. Sata?

This is what we call in Bemba, ukutumpa! Can you imagine if Mr. Sata was alive, do you know what Zambia would have been?

If you don’t know, let me tell you. Zambia would have been worse than it is today, so stop your baseless accusations!
