Allow ECL to rest says UPND mobilisation team member, Aubrey Muzaza

PEOPLE advising the former President Edgar Lungu to contest the 2026 presidential and general elections do not mean well for him and his family, United Party for National Development (UPND) mobilization team member, Aubrey Muzaza has said.
Speaking in an interview, Mr Muzaza who is also former UPND Serenje district chairperson, said those advising the former Head of State are misleading him.
He advised people surrounding Mr Lungu to provide sound advice to the statesman instead of misleading him.
Mr Muzaza said Mr Lungu can contribute in other ways to national development befitting the honour and respect deserving a former President instead returning to active politics.
Mr Muzaza noted that Mr Lungu ran his race and was time for him to rest and do other things away from politics that will benefit the country. He said those advising to Mr Lungu to return to active politics are being unfair to him.
“People advising the former president Edgar Lungu to stand in 2026 do not mean well to him and his family. On the other hand, it is a two-way thing, it is either Mr Lungu has wrong advisers or he is a wrong person to advice.
“People should learn to be truthful asking him to stand again is unfair to him and its really bad, I don’t know why there misleading him,” Mr Muzaza said.
