Zambia’s MMA fighters dominate Fist of Valour

ZAMBIAN Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighters dominated Saturday’s nights MMA action dubbed the Fists of Valour – Bushidu and scooped four fights from the six international fights which took place at the Music Club in Lusaka.

The fight night which had over 15 fight cards had attracted international fighters from South Africa, Zimbabwean and Zambia as hosts.

While South African fighters went back home without a win, Zimbabwean fighters proved to be too tough for the Zambian fighters.

Zambia’s Elisha “The Boxer” Lukungu outclassed Gian-Carlo Tarino from South Africa by split points decision while Tryford “Almighty” Mwanga defeated South Africa’s Sipho Miaba via a rear neck choke in the 3rd round.

Ignatius Nkomo of Tribal Fight Club from South Africa was outshined by Portus “The Silver Back Gorilla” Chama of Zambia by a split points decision while Zambia’s Jarcel “The Black Leopard,” Chimbwe defeated Hlompho Phomodi from South Africa by unanimous points decision.

In the main event, Lewis “The Porcupine” Mataya from Zimbabwe clobbered Zambia’s Joseph “The Tiger” Mwanza by unanimous Points Decision after an intense three rounds of action in the cage.

In another battle of the Zambezi, Tinotenda Tyler Kawocha from Zimbabwe defeated Chomba “The Shogun Assassin” Mwandila via a Unanimous Points Decision. The successful hosting of the Fist of Valour excited MMAZ representative Andrew Sawdon who saluted all the fighters for putting up great fights.

Sowden also hailed various sponsors such as Betika, BSi Steel Zambia, Country Choice Chicken and the official broadcasters of the fight night Diamond TV Zambia for the commitment to ensure MMAZ delivers a successful event.

Meanwhile In the under-card fights Jai ‘Boyka’ Chilufya stunned James Nzila ‘The Holy Warrior ‘ Malambo winning the fight by TKO in the 2nd Round.

Royd Tembo beat Abraham Banda by Split Points Decision while Chipego ‘The Blue Beast’ Simukuwa defeated James Mwila by TKO via Ground and Pound in the 1st Round.

Batista Mende was outshined by Bernard ‘Blood Fist’ Chisenga through submission via Guillotine choke in the 1st Round of the fight.

Prince Tafuna beat Alick Matongo by split points while Nathan “Lord Haku’ Chilenga won the battle of the nathans by beating Nathan “The Doctor” Mufwaya by unanimous points decision.

Mwelwa (The Wolf’,” Nkhata and Kelvin “The Punisher N’goma put up an exciting fight with the Wolf emerging victorious by unanimous points dDecision.

Daniel Blessed Muleba was stunned by Micheal “Mica Man” Zulu via a unanimous Points Decision while Greg ‘The Kyokushin Nerd’ Maluma knocked out Kelvin “King Shaka” Chishimba in the 2nd Round.

Zambia’s exciting female MMA fighters Mutinta “The Crippler” Mweene and Miracle Chipito couldn’t show the fans what they were capable of doing in the cage as their opponents did not travel due to injuries.
