UCZ urges HH to promote unity

THE United Church in Zambia (UCZ) has told President Hakainde Hichilema to use his presidency to unite the country and promote national development and resist the temptation of governing the country based on tribalism and regionalism.
The Church has warned that Zambia’s peace and unity is being threatened by the spirit of selfishness, tribalism, regionalism, harmful political ambitions, pride and the attitude of “I-know-it-all.”
And Senior Chief Nkula of the Bemba people of Chinsali has said those in leadership should not be averse to criticism and find better ways of improving people’s lives for the sake of peace, unity and harmony, the virtues, which were espoused by the country’s first President, Dr Kenneth David Kaunda.
