Life harder under UPND, says Howard Kunda

ZAMBIANS must fire the UPND government in the 2026 elections because life has become very hard with poverty and hunger worsening, says Zambia Wake Up Party president, Howard Kunda.
Mr Kunda said Zambians must ensure that the UPND government and President Hakainde Hichilema were voted out of government in the 2026 elections because it has brought pain to Zambians who were hoping for the best as per campaign promises.
In an interview yesterday, Mr Kunda said there was no need to give the UPND government and President Hichilema a second term when life has become very hard under the UPND with no hope of achieving poverty alleviation and food security.
He said the UPND was fully aware that its performance in the last three years has been disastrous, thereby resorting to dictatorial tendencies to silence the opposition and its critics, including the church.
“The UPND has lamentably failed, it has made the lives of the majority Zambians ‘Hell’ on Earth. A responsible and caring government strives to make the lives of its citizens much better, but this one is something else. Zambians must fire this government in the 2026 elections because it has bought more pain,” Mr Kunda said.
“Even the UPND cadres are fully aware that the performance of their government has been disastrous and are confirming it. They are fully aware that their performance has been disastrous and so they don’t want anyone to talk about it, hence they have resorted to dictatorial tendencies to silence the opposition and its critics who include the church,” he said.
Mr Kunda said Zambians must resist, reject and fight the dictatorship of the UPND government which was happening at the time when Zambia was celebrating 60 years of independence.
He said Zambians fought for political independence for citizens to have freedom to movement and expression, but it was sad and disappointing that, after failing to fulfil many of its campaign promises, the UPND has become a dictatorial government.
