UPND gov’t open to dialogue for good governance – Kawana

GOVERNMENT says it is more than ready to dialogue with stakeholders on matters affecting the governance of the country, stating that it is the UPND government policy to engage in dialogue with the governed on how best the country should be run, Thabo Kawana has said.There have been concerns from stakeholders including political parties that the UPND government is not open to dialogue and criticism.But Mr Kawana, the Ministry of Information and Media Permanent Secretary says the UPND government has always remained committed to sitting down with stakeholders especially on important matters such as the economy among other issues to find means on how best to resolve the challenges.
Mr. Kawana said the government’s commitment could be seen from the many initiatives that had been put in place such as public private dialogue forum among others.He said the efforts were an indication that the UPND government was committed to embrace all stakeholders beyond the political divide so that a united and inclusive Zambia could be achieved.
Mr. Kawana said there was need for those claiming that government was not open to dialogue to desist from peddling such lies especially that they were not good for the country.
