Zambia deserves better – protestor
By NATION REPORTS
JASON Mwanza, a youth activist says following his lone protest yesterday from Civic Centre to State House, some individuals were unleashed to intimidate and beat him up.
“Well, it is not going to happen. They will not stop me from telling the people the truth and this is the truth that Zambia deserves better. We deserve a good leadership that is going to address the plight of the people. People are struggling with the high cost of living,” Mr Mwanza said.
He said load shedding was way-too much when UPND had promised the best.
Mr Mwanza said leadership was supposed to be held accountable over the promises they make to people.
“We as Zambians are done away with politics where politicians say one thing and do the opposite yet they go scotfree,” he said.
Mr Mwanza said the (powers) that be, should restore integrity and dignity.
He said Zambia deserved better and it was everyone’s constitutional right to speak out and the government should not silence people.
“We have everything we need to develop as a nation. Copper, gold, cobalt, manganese and everything we need to create employment for our young people. You cannot only employ those who are educated.
What about us who never had an opportunity to complete school? So, I will continue protesting and airing out my grievances in accordance with the constitution and I expect that Government will respect my constitutional right,” Mr Mwanza said.
