CHIYANGI TARGETS TOP FOUR FINISH

By BARNABAS ZULU

NKWAZI Football Club coach Aggrey Chiyangi has revealed that his goal for the team this season is to finish among the top four in the league.
Nkwazi is in seventh place with 28 points from 18 matches before the league entered its mid-season break.
In an interview yesterday, Chiyangi discussed the team’s performance and set his sights on higher ambitions for the remainder of the season.
“Last season, we achieved our target by finishing in the top eight, which was good, even though our main objective was to qualify for ABSA, which we missed in the last game,” said Chiyangi.
Reflecting on the team’s performance, Chiyangi added, “In general, it has been a mixed season, but when I look at where I picked the team from and where we finished, I have to give credit to the players. They have worked very hard.”
While Chiyangi noted the challenges ahead, he emphasised that the immediate focus is to break into the top four.
“For now, I can’t talk about contending for the league, but the first thing is to make sure we break into the top four. If we do that, then we can talk about challenging for the league title. So, for now, we have to push to get into the top four,” he explained.
On possible player signings during the break, Chiyangi said, “We might bring in one or two players, but that will depend on the meeting we are going to have with the executive.”
