THE Zambian Premier League (ZPL) enters Week 18 with exciting matchups taking place across the country.
The spotlight today falls on the showdown between Power Dynamos and “Mighty” Mufulira Wanderers at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.
Power, despite suffering a 1-0 defeat to Nchanga Rangers in their previous match, are in strong form, sitting in fourth place on the standings with 29 points.
In contrast, Wanderers are in urgent need of points to climb up from their precarious 11th position, where they have accumulated just 21 points.
Their last match ended in a 1-1 draw against Green Buffaloes, and they will be looking to improve their fortunes against a tough Power side.
Meanwhile, FC MUZA will host Nchanga Rangers at Nakambala Stadium in Mazabuka. MUZA, in 10th place with 22 points, is eager to secure a win to improve their position in the league. On the other hand, Nchanga, fresh off their victory over Power are full of confidence. They are in ninth position, also with 22 points, and a win would push them higher up the table.
In another crucial fixture, “Magnificent” Kabwe Warriors, second on the log with 30 points, will face Green Eagles at Railway Stadium in Kabwe.
Warriors are looking to bounce back after a recent 1-1 draw with Nkana and will be aiming to collect all three points to close the gap on leaders Red Arrows.
Eagles, who are in sixth place with 27 points, are also chasing a win. A victory for them would elevate them to second position, keeping their title hopes alive. Their last match ended in a 1-1 draw against FC MUZA, and they will be keen to make a statement against Warriors.
