A call for restraint

THE country’s political landscape is once again embroiled in accusations of violence as the ruling United Party for National Development (UPND) claims that members of the opposition Tonse Alliance are engaging in violent behaviour.

The most recent flare-up of these tensions occurred in Petauke, where UPND officials accused the opposition of attacking their campaign site. This accusation has led the UPND to demand swift action from the police, even threatening to take matters into their own hands if no arrests are made.
