Dr Lishimpi denies being summoned by DEC

MINISTRY of Health Permanent Secretary, Dr. Kennedy Lishimpi, has denied reports that he was summoned by the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) in connection with the ongoing investigation into the Global Fund corruption scandal.

The scandal led to the dismissal of Dr. Christopher Simoonga, the Ministry’s former administration counterpart, by President Hakainde Hichilema.

Recently, Health Minister Dr. Elijah Muchima confirmed that Dr. Lishimpi, along with other officials including directors, had been summoned by the DEC as part of the escalating probe into the $6.8 million contract awarded to Chreso University, an institution previously headed by CLICK HERE TO READ MORE
