Freedom of speech under siege in Zambia, UKA tells UN rapporteur

UNITED Kwacha Alliance (UKA) has expressed grave concerns about the state of freedom of speech and expression in Zambia, accusing the ruling UPND administration of stifling these fundamental rights.

In a letter to the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Opinion and Expression, Ms. Irene Khan, dated January 24, 2025, Sakwiba Sikota SC, the UKA chairperson has descried the growing environment of political repression under the current government.
