Mozambique Conflict: A Call to Action for SADC

The escalating violence in Mozambique following the disputed October 2024 presidential election demands urgent and decisive intervention from the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC).

Zambia’s sixth president, Edgar Lungu, has made an impassioned plea to SADC, particularly to Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa, the current chair, to lead efforts to mediate and end the conflict that has already claimed hundreds of lives and displaced thousands.
