Oil marketers unhappy with delayed fuel review pricing

THE Oil Marketing Companies Association of Zambia (OMCAZ) has expressed disappointment over the Ministry of Energy’s lack of seriousness regarding the review of the fuel pricing model, more than a year after a Presidential directive.
In October 2023, President Hakainde Hichilema instructed Energy Permanent Secretary Peter Mumba to develop a more stable fuel pricing system, citing concerns that the current monthly reviews were driving up the cost of living, inflation, and commodity prices.
