State, WHO, CSOs partner to fight tobacco abuse among youths

THE Ministry of Health in partnership with World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) has launched the Global Youth Tobacco Survey (GYTS) Report, emphasising the urgent need for action to prevent the increasing tobacco use among youths.

Director, Public Health and Research at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Bushimbwa Tambatamba on behalf of the minister, Dr. Elijah Muchima has expressed concern over the rising tobacco use among the country youth, as revealed by the 2021 Global Youth Tobacco Survey.
