US gifts Zambia US$100M chopper sale

THE United States State Department has approved a foreign military sale to Zambia for military helicopters and associated logistics support at an estimated cost of US$100 million.

The contract was approved on Monday this week.

According to the Pentagon, the principal contractor will be Bell Textron, located in Fort Worth, Texas.

It will provide Zambia with Bell 412 Enhanced Performance Exportable Medium-Lift Transport Helicopters.
