Zim’s transit tax to disrupt trade

ECONOMIST Kelvin Chisanga says the Zimbabwean government’s new refundable transit tax for truckers could significantly disrupt trade and economic activities across Southern Africa.

The policy mandates truckers to pay US$25, 000 upon entry into Zimbabwe, which can only be reclaimed upon exiting the country.
