LIKE all oxymorons, it is ironic that a victim who was set upon by a group of police officers should be charged with assault. It simply does not make sense, but like other matters before, this charge could very well be prosecuted resulting in a conviction.
EMMANUEL Mwamba has lodged a complaint against the 12 Zambia Police officers including Stephen Simwenda and Brian Chipango to the Police Public Complaints Commission for brutality, assault and abduction.
Mr Mwamba who is also Zambia’s former Permanent Reprehensive to the African Union said there was nothing lawful about the current fight against corruption that was targeted at individuals with divergent views from the UPND.
